Mena was ranked #69 on the Maxim magazine "Hot 100 of 2005" list, was ranked as #73 on Maxim magazine "Hot 100 of 2007" list, and #52 on the Maxim magazine "Hot 100 of 2008" list. Mena rounded out her creative activities by playing the iconic black Dahlia in Ryan Murphy's television series American Horror Story (2011) and continued her work on the medium, following up with an arc in the hit series Chicago Fire (2013), as well as leading the Amazon pilot Hysteria (2014) and the mini-series on WeTv South of Hell (2015) and executive produced by Eli Roth and Jason Blum for Blumhouse Productions. Mena is set to star in the role of Alicia Silverstone for John Wells and the TV Land series American Woman. She graduated from Providence High School in Burbank, California class of 1997. Her name of last resort, "Suvari", pronounced "soo-VAHR-ee" is Estonian. Her father is Estonian and her mother is American. Mena's maternal grandfather was Norwegian, German and English, while Mena’s maternal grandmother was Greek. Her first name is Mena. Pronounced "MEE-nah". Entertainment Weekly magazine named her the most patriotic artist in 2000, referring to the 3 movies with the word "American" in their titles: American Pie (1999), American Beauty (99), and Live Virgin (1999). In 2001, she added American Pie 2 (2001) to that list. Then, more than 10 years later, she added American Reunion (2012) to her filmography.
