Mena Alexandra Suvari, born on February 13, 1979, in America is an actress, fashion designer and a model. Shortly after beginning her career as an actress Mena Alexandra Svari was a regular as an actress in the 1990s on television shows Boy Meets World and High Incident. She had her first film part in the drama Nowhere. After her performances on the screen in American Beauty (for which she won a BAFTA Award) and American Pie which attracted her much attention, she completed her transition into major roles. In 2000, she appeared in American Pie alongside American Pie co star Jason Biggs. In 2001, she took on the leading character for the role of Sugar & Spice (2000). Spun the independent drama from 2002 and the thriller film Trauma (2004), were the two films she has made her most recent appearances. The year 2004, she was a guest in HBO's series Six Feet Under. She received nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Award in for 2005 in the category of Outstanding Ensemble. In 2008, she was part of several films like Day of the Dead The Mysteries of Pittsburgh and the movie adaptation of The Garden of Eden. Suvari is featured in a variety of fashion blogs and magazines as well as Vogue. She is also a Lancome model and appears on ads in print for Lancome Paris Adaptive. She has long been an activist and supporter to the African Medical and Research Foundation. She has been a vocal advocate in the cause of female empowerment and is a part of a number of organizations fighting breast cancer or an End Violence Against Women movement. Her most notable performances include Dark Angel Heroes, The Chris Isaak Show Black Sash Reaper, and Rookie Blue.
