Mena Alexandra Suvari (born on 13 February 1979) is a famous American actress fashion designer and model. Following a brief time as a model for fashion before moving into acting, appearing as a guest on TV shows such as Boy Meets World in the 1990s as well as High Incident. In 1997 she made her acting debut as a film actress in Nowhere. Through her roles as a character in American Beauty - for which the actress was nominated to be awarded the BAFTA Award - and American Pie, which garnered more attention from the public, she transitioned into bigger roles. She is a long-time supporter and activist for the highly regarded African relief group, the African Medical and Research Foundation. Also, she is involved in the issue of women's empowerment and collaborates with various organizations to support breast cancer awareness and the End Violence Against Women Campaign.
