Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell has worked as a chef, TV presenter in the US and an instructor at Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, and is also the host of Worst Cooks in America. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef is a hit with her signature hairstyle and her pumped up appearance, offers easy techniques any person can master. Chef Burrell is also an experienced chef of New York City's best restaurants. She also has learned about Italy's food traditions and the culture of Italy, along with the natural environment. While growing up in the upstate New York area, Chef Burrell found a passion for food and cooking early on. The Culinary Institute of America was the catalyst for her passion for managing restaurants when she received an English/Communications diploma at Canisius College Buffalo NY. She says "I enjoyed being a Culinary Institute of America (CIA) student. I loved every minute of it." It was impossible to learn how to do, or even work hard enough. Following graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany and La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) during her time at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. The chef gained an appreciation of Italian culinary and cultural traditions while in Italy that has informed the way she cooks. Burrell serves on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens up the lives of struggling children. Additionally, she is an Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Celebrity Advocate in which she raises awareness about the condition of children with diabetes. As an inspirational speaker, she makes trips across the country to talk about her love of cuisine and to promote her professional career as a chef. Anne declared that she felt fortunate to be able to share her true passion with others.
